So I started on my latest Saturday Sounds track last night. Didn’t have any particular direction I wanted to go, but I started goofing on a little melody last night, wasn’t thinking much about it either way, but thought “well, this is serviceable at least”, so I went to work writing harmonies for it…and suddenly the skies parted and I got stuff that sounds actually pretty decent for a trancey breakdown section, and I took those harmonies to adapt for the main groove, and this might be my best one yet!

It’s still too early to tell but this track is almost writing itself. I’m in that groove where I feel more like just a conduit for Something Else to put its ideas into Ableton. I haven’t had that in a long time with music and I’m hoping it becomes more frequent as I keep doing this.
